Shake the Lake may have been last weekend but there are plenty of events and fireworks and festivals shows to choose from around Madison this weekend.

Monona Community Festival 

July 3rd & 4th, Fireworks on the 4th at 9:20PM

Come early for an art fair, live music, food from local resturants like Fat Jack’s BBQ and the Slide Food Cart, and see your neighbors race with their wives on their backs for a chance to win her weight in beer. You read that right! The Wife Carrrying Competition starts at 6PM. Kids can take part in their own bike parade at 11:30 AM

Stoughton Fair

July 1st – 5th, Fireworks on the 5th at 9:30

The Stoughton Fair has everything you could want from a Wisconsin fair, chainsaw wood carving, pizza eating contest for kids, tractor pulls, a pie auction, pig wrestling and of course fish fry on Friday. Check the full schedule of events here.  Wristbands sell for $27 for admission to the fair starting at 12PM each day.

Deforest 4th of July Celebration

July 3rd & 4th, Fireworks on the 4th at Dusk

Start your 4th with the Freedom Run sponsored by Deforest Bank, then grab a snack and watch the parade at 10:30 AM. The rest of the day is filled with free pony rides, live music and entertainment such as Doug the Jug Juggler and Cameleon, fire house bingo and beers in the beer garden. Fun for the kids and parents alike.

Elver Park Fireworks

July 2nd, Park opens at 7PM, Fireworks at 9:30PM

Why wait until the 4th for fireworks? Enjoy a family picnic from food carts like Pots N Tots and the Chocolate Shoppe. Families are welcome to bring picnics from home as well.
