of the many fun things to do this autumn around Southcentral Wisconsin.

dozen activities and discover why this part of the state is a great place to
live, learn, and play:

Fall Art Tour Visit Mineral Point, Spring Green, Dodgeville, and Baraboo
from October 14-16 to take in the beautiful works of local artists.

Mammoth Hike Challenge It’s 42 years since the Ice Age Trail became a
national scenic trail. Celebrate with a
42-mile hike over several days and earn a certificate and limited-edition patch
for your efforts—maybe you’d like to start your hike in Janesville. Walk through October.

Witches Night Out Mount Horeb welcomes all witches for a
costume contest, shopping fun, and opportunity to sample tasty local fare. You can even pick up a swag bag! Thursday, October 13.

Wisconsin Book Festival If book talks and writing groups are more your
thing, check out the Wisconsin Book Festival in Madison from October
13-16. You’re sure to meet interesting
authors and find a great book!

World Dairy Expo It’s a moo-ving experience at Madison’s Alliant
Energy Center from October 2-7. Don’t
miss out on one of the dairy industry’s premier events! (And enjoy some ice cream, too!)

Stoughton Wine Walk Visit Stoughton’s art district and unique shops! Register ($40) for a wine glass and two wine
samples at each featured shop—enjoy discounts, too! October 13.

HOLLOW-een at Cave of the Mounds An extra charge on your ticket throughout
October gets you a fun collection of crystals and fossils you’ll collect
trick-or-treating through the cave! You
can also see a guided Black Light Tour on October 7, 16, and 21 at 4:30 PM.

Enchanted Valley Acres in Cross Plains features fall fun: a giant slide,
corn maze, pumpkins, and more! Fridays,
Saturdays, and Sundays in October—also Thursdays 10/20 and 10/27. Buy your tickets online to assure entry.

Fall Fest featuring a Festival Fire Aldo Leopold Center, Monona. Fall snacks, torch-lit trails, and a costume
parade are but a few of the fun activities in store! October 7, 5:30-7:30 PM.
· UW Arboretum’s October Calendar is chock-full of great outdoor events! Take a full moon night walk on October 8, start with a conifer garden tour earlier that day. Check out the colors of fall with a tour on October 15 from 1-3. See their website for more! Madison.

Allen Centennial Garden Harvest Folk Festival October 8, 12-6 PM. Kick up your heels as you listen to live folk
music! Listen in on interesting student
presentations about harvest and food traditions. Celebrate the Kitchen Garden project and
learn about the crops, food, and culture of African American, Indigenous, and
Hmong communities.
· CRACKLE Fire and Froth, Olbrich Gardens, Madison. October 7-8, 7-10 PM. Party in the outdoor gardens with live music--and enjoy tasty snacks from Madison food carts. Sample a frothy micro-brew! See Olbrich’s website for ticket information and music line-up.
